Company D 2nd Maryland Infantry
is an American Civil War living history “campaigner” organization. Established in 2014, Company D’s main goal was to recreate an accurate historical portrayal of the soldiers that served in 2nd Maryland Infantry from 1862-65. Our impression is based on 100% facts and supporting research. Although we are headquartered out of Baltimore, our membership spans multiple states. Our annual event schedule includes living history demonstrations for the National Park Service at various battlefields includingGettysburg. We are also well established with many other historical locations and event venues in the Mid-Atlantic area. We strive to educate from a soldier’s perspective and teach about Maryland’s role during the American Civil War.
WE ARE MARYLAND!
“NO RICHER BLOOD MADE HOLY THE GROUND OF GETTYSBURG THAN THAT WHICH FLOWED FROM THE VEINS OF THE MARYLAND BOYS AND NONE DID THEIR DUTY ON THAT EVENTFUL DAY MORE GALLANTLY & MORE NOBLY THAN THE SONS OF THE GOOD OLD STATE”
