Rob Kinney

ROB KINNEY LOVED HISTORY AND TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH.  ROB LOVED LIVING HISTORY, BUT FORMOST HE ENJOYED THE COMRADES AND FRIENDSHIP OF THOSE HE MET. ROB WAS MY FRIEND FOR MANY YEARS (TOO MANY TO COUNT).  HE WAS FRIENDS AND A BROTHER WITH EVERYONE IN COMPANY D.  HE WAS FRIENDS WITH MANY IN THE WORLD OF LIVING HISTORY.  HIS LOVE FOR HISTORY AND RESPECT FOR THOSE THAT SERVED IN THE MILTARY WAS THE FUEL WHICH TURNED INTO A PASSION THAT GUIDED HIM TO A HOBBY THAT BECAME HIS LIFE. ROB LIVED AND BREATHED HISTORY, TEACHING OTHERS, BUT FOREMOST HE VIEWED EVERYONE AS HIS FAMILY.  ROB’S JOURNEY IN THE WORLD OF LIVING HISTORY STARTED IN THE 1980’S.  ROB HAS DONE AN IMPRESSION OF PRETTY MUCH EVERY TIME PERIOD AND THAT OF VARIOUS NATIONS.  ROB WAS A MEMBER OF GROUPS THAT REPRESENTED TIME PERIODS FROM THE REVOUTIONARY WAR TO VIETNAM. HE MET SCORES OF PEOPLE WHICH MANY BECAME HIS FRIENDS OVER THE YEARS.  THE ONE THING EVERYONE OF HIS FRIENDS SAY ABOUT ROB WAS HIS ABILITY TO MAKE OTHERS LAUGH. HE WAS THAT GUY THAT HAD PEOPLE IN TEARS LAUGHING ON OUR WEEKEND EVENTS TOGTHER.  WHETHER IT WAS IN MUDDY TRENCHES OF AN WWI EVENT OR AN AIRFIELD OF A WWII EVENT TO A RAINY DAY ON A BOULDER FILLED HILL AT A CIVIL WAR EVENT, ROB WAS ABLE TO MAKE LIGHT OF THINGS AND MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH.  ROB WAS ALSO A GOOD FRIEND.  THOSE OF US THAT HAD THE PRIVALEDGE TO HAVE KNOWN ROB CAN SAY HE WAS ONE OF THOSE FRIENDS THAT WOULD GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF HIS BACK WITHOUT HESISTATION. ROB WAS AN OLD SOUL IN THIS MODERN WORLD.  HE WAS AT HOME TRAVELING THROUGH TIME WITH ALL THE VARIOUS TIME PERIODS HE WAS INVOLVED IN.  ROB HAS DEFINATELY LEFT HIS MARK ON EACH OF US THAT KNEW HIM.  HE IS NOW FREE OF THIS WORLD, BUT REST ASSURED ROB KINNEY’S MEMORY WILL LIVE WITHIN EACH OF US.  THOSE OF US THAT KNEW ROB WILL BE TELLING STORIES ABOUT HIM….ABOUT ALL THE LAUGHS….ABOUT ALL THOSE MOMENTS….EVEN THE COCKPIT FULL OF EELS…..THOSE STORIES WILL BE TOLD AROUND MANY CAMP FIRES FOR MANY YEARS TO COME. HE WILL STILL MAKE US LAUGH WHETHER IT IS AT GETTYSBURG, IN A WWI TRENCH, OR UNDER THE WING OF A SPITFIRE. A STORY INVOLVING ROB KINNEY ALWAYS ENDS WITH PEOPLE SMILING AND LAUGHING.  THANKS FOR BEING MY FRIEND. REST IN PEACE BROTHER…TILL WE ALL MEET AGAIN!
